It's finally here!! When I first made this website, everyone was asking me when I would stock a plastic free toothbrush. The truth is, they're very hard to find. As far as I am aware, there is no completely plastic-free, vegan toothbrush available on the internet (Please let me know if you find one)
The problem is the bristles. After hours of digging, I found two options; nylon or boar bristles. Nylon is non ideal for obvious plastic reasons, but it breaks down faster than other varieties of plastic. Boar bristle is completely biodegradable, but when I talked to friends about this most of them were uncomfortable with brushing their teeth with pig hair. Boar bristle toothbrushes are also non-vegan. With a heavy heart, I opted for this toothbrush from save some green, with a panda friendly bamboo handle and Nylon 4 bristles. Tried and tested by me and my family, I can also say that this toothbrush is the most durable bamboo toothbrush I've come across so far!
I would recommend disposing of these by sawing or snapping the head off the toothbrush, and throwing it in general waste (as it can't be recycled) and composting the handle. Not perfect, but a lot better than plastic toothbrushes!
Directions For Use: I like to dry them standing up to protect the bamboo handle, but other than that, use normally!
Composition: Moso Bamboo, Nylon 4 bristles
Packaging: biodegradable paper sleeve (please recycle!)
Extra Good Stuff: Vegan, Panda Friendly!
